Falls often begin long before a stumble.

Subtle changes like weaker legs, declining balance, or increased hesitation with daily movements can signal a growing fall risk in older adults.

These early signs — such as grabbing railings more or avoiding stairs — may seem minor but matter greatly.

Health experts, including the World Health Organization and CDC, highlight poor balance and physical inactivity as major risk factors for falls.

Once unsteadiness sets in, confidence may drop, creating a cycle of less movement and more weakness, further increasing risk.

Preventing falls should start before a fall ever occurs.

Exercise programs that include balance, strength, and functional training have been shown to dramatically reduce fall injuries for older adults.

Taking early action helps preserve freedom, confidence, and independence.
