From Marine to Mission-Driven Entrepreneur: The Story of Seth Scrimo |
A Journey of Service, Resilience, and Community Impact in Wooster, Ohio |
Seth Scrimo embodies the essence of service and leadership, transitioning from a dedicated Marine to a prominent entrepreneur in Wooster, Ohio.
His journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to community.
After a decade of service in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve, Sergeant Scrimo (MOS 3881) honed skills in food service operations, communications, and leadership.
Stationed in Brook Park, Ohio, he managed strategic communications and coordinated large-scale events, experiences that laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Transitioning to civilian life, Seth applied his mission-first mindset as Area Manager for Stay Fit 24 in Wooster.
Overseeing five locations, he not only expanded memberships but also fostered community engagement through races and outreach events.
His academic pursuits at Kent State University, where he earned degrees in Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology, further sharpened his expertise.
In 2019, driven by faith and a desire to empower others, Seth launched Scrimo Fitness.
What began as a solo venture has flourished into a nationally recognized coaching company, guiding over 11,000 clients both online and locally.
Scrimo Fitness has become more than a business; it is a ministry where people feel supported, encouraged, and empowered.
Recently, it was voted Best of Wooster Gyms/Fitness in 2025—a testament to the trust and impact the business has built in the community.
Entrepreneurship, however, has not been without challenges.
In 2019, a gym chain he managed closed, bringing criticism and doubt.
“It was a huge punch to my gut,” he admits.
But the resilience, discipline, and problem-solving skills honed in the Marines saw him through.
“You’ve got to have thick skin, press forward, and stay committed to the bigger mission.”
His military experience also continues to shape how he leads today.
“Leadership isn’t about rank—it’s about service.
That’s the standard I carry whether coaching clients, mentoring entrepreneurs, or leading in the community.
Teamwork, resilience, and a mission-first mindset guide every decision I make.”
In addition to Scrimo Fitness, Seth is the founder of Wooster Entrepreneurs United, a thriving community where small business owners collaborate, grow, and give back.
He also launched Man on Fire, a brotherhood supporting men in building strength, faith, and purpose while addressing mental health openly.
His commitment to community storytelling continues through the Best of Wooster Podcast, which spotlights local people, businesses, and inspiring stories.
Reflecting on his journey, Seth emphasizes the importance of family alongside entrepreneurship.
“I’m most proud of being a present father and husband while building these ventures.
The business should work for you, not the other way around.”
His awards and recognitions—including being a six-time #1 Amazon Best-Selling Author, with two international bestsellers—are meaningful, but the freedom to lead at home and in the community remains his greatest achievement.
His advice for fellow veterans is simple but powerful: “Start before you feel ready.
The skills you learned in service—resilience, leadership, adaptability—are exactly what entrepreneurship demands.
Build your network, stay humble, and lean into your faith.
Persistence will take you farther than perfect planning.”
Looking ahead, his focus is on scaling impact while maintaining balance.
Scrimo Fitness will continue expanding digital programs for busy parents, veterans, and leaders, while Wooster Entrepreneurs United fosters collaboration and community growth.
Man on Fire is set to grow, redefining support networks for men, and the Best of Wooster Podcast will keep highlighting those making a difference locally.
Ultimately, Seth’s mission mirrors the ethos that guided him in the Marines: to serve, lead, and help others grow stronger in body, mind, and spirit.
Through faith, discipline, and relentless determination, he has transformed military leadership into a legacy of entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community impact. |
